Under the Sun

I'm currently reading Eccesiastes. In chapter three it talks about how under the sun there is a time for every activity. There is a time to cry, and a time to laugh, a time to hurt and a time to heal, a time to die and a die for birth, a time to mourn and a time to rejoice,  a time to speak and a time to be silent, a time to love and a time to hate, a time of war and a time of peace, a time to gain and a time to lose. (v 1) "to everything there is a season, a time for eery purpsoe under heaven.

My favourite part of this section is in verse 11 where it says "he as made everything beautiful in his time" I love the thought of that, that in time everything under the sun will be made beautiful and seen as beautiful. I was up at New Horizon last week (great week) and my prayer was that God would make me beautiful, that he would make my thoughts and deeds and words and actions beautiful. That he glory and power in me would be beautiful, that his light would be beautiful, because it is infact him shining through me.

All of God's creation is beautiful. The point is that God makes everything that way in its time. From the divine perspective there is no ugliness in the events of our lives.

Therefore if there is a purpose and a time for everything in our lives, meaning God as a purposeful plan for the events and circumstances in our lives. I know God as me here for a purpose, that he wants me here at this place in life for a reason. It brings me comfort when i question my purpose of life.

Last week at New Horizon the theme for some of the evening meetings was purpose and identity. It made me wonder where i place my identity, for some people their identity is in their jobs, or family and friends, or gifts and talents. But what happens when our circumstances change and they are no longer there, or we lose our jobs etc? Then what happens...last week I learnt that I can only ever place my identity in HIM! I found my identity can only ever be placed in Him.

I am a disciple of Christ. I labour in love, walk in victory, and live by faith! I am a christian, an unashamed frim beleiver in Jesus Christ.

God Bless
