GILLY CARSON
Gilly is a medic who says he is currently on a sabbatical from the Emergency Dept in Craigavon Area Hospital. He is really in denial, that in fact, he has just retired. Outside of Medicine and CE, Gilly watches Ulster Rugby on Friday evening but gets really annoyed when they play on Saturday evenings, as it clashes with CE. He loves going to London and to Lords to watch cricket and going to the theatre but rumour has it that he has seen Les Mis over 20 times! CE has been however one of the most significant things in his life for which he is totally grateful to God.
HENRY CAPPER
Henry, a graduate of Community and Youth Work has been active within CE since his days at Portadown College. Involved primarily in the discipleship aspect of CE, Henry also leads the Grace and Peace mission trip and organises the annual venture up to New Horizon each summer. If he isn’t at CE, you’ll probably find him studying at the Irish Baptist College, playing football for Ambassadors or drinking coffee at Tin House.
Joy Irwin
Joy has been coming to CE since she was in 2nd year at Killicomaine. Through CE, she has grown her faith, made great friends, and been given so many opportunities to serve God. God has also provided many travel opportunities, including mission trips and student teaching placements, and God has led and guided her through these experiences to teach Primary 1 in a school in Belfast. There have been many highs and lows throughout her journey, but God has always been faithful to her, and Joy feels incredibly privileged to be part of a great family, a wonderful church (Edenderry) and have amazing friends.
John Finlay
John has been involved since he arrived in Portadown some 12 years ago. A committed member of Edenderry Presbyterian (he is their clerk of Session) and a father of three, he never seems to have much time on his hands - yet always finds time for people who need him. When John is not serving in Edenderry, you might find him in Lurgan (of all places) where he heads up the Chemistry department at Lurgan College.
SCOTT MCMENEMY
Scott has been going to CE for a while now. Married to Ruth, his passions include being an average drummer, playing quirky board games and indulging in a bit of FIFA. Having led the Grace and Peace team along with Henry, Scott has a passion for mission and is involved with organising the teams that go out each summer, as well as organising the worship team on a Saturday night. He's an employee of First Portadown, where he is involved in discipleship and mentoring. If you're interested about any mission teams, being involved in music or even just going to church, don't hesitate to give him a shout!
